Getting Started
You can try out Scuba diving by taking one of our 'Experience Scuba' courses. This course provides all the information you need to decide if you would like to take up this exciting sport. It is made up of an introduction to diving talk plus an hour practical pool session. It provides information about the development of diving and related sport diver activities. You will be made aware of the various routes available to begin diving, together with the courses on offer through the BSAC. You will be given lots of information about the training/diving/facilities provided by Warrington Sub-Aqua Club as a branch of the BSAC. You will also be told of the expected costs associated with learning to dive and purchasing diving equipment. Experienced instructors will be available to answer any queries you may have about aspects of diving. For the practical pool lesson using the aqualung, all equipment is provided for you and included in the cost. A chance to see what breathing underwater is like.
The entry level qualification with the BSAC is known as Ocean Diver
and, once obtained, would allow you to dive with the club and most dive
operators around the world. The course consists of 7 theory lessons, 5
sheltered water lessons (in the pool), 5 open water lessons (in the
sea/inland dive sites) and a theory exam.
